Here are a few things about me to give you a better idea of who I am, how I collaborate, and how I do my best work.
Where I've been
Once upon a time, I thought I wanted to be a German teacher. Jawohl!
What I've identified as my real love is the written word. So it's no surprise that content has been a common thread throughout my career. I got my start in content marketing, then I found my way in content design.
Industry-wise, I've worked in highly-regulated spaces (tech, government, contracts, mortgage, and real estate) and not-so-regulated spaces (music, food and beverage) so I've seen content from across the spectrum.
I've learned I love designing for complex, new, or foundational customer experiences. Whether it's helping people buy a home, launch ads in new mediums, or just log into their account, I see designing seamless experiences that impact people's everyday lives as an area where I can have the most influence.
When I'm not doing design, you might find me spinning vinyl or hanging out with my cat, Bruce.
HOW I thrive at work
I'm a team chameleon and do my best work when I have the freedom to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to inform my work: product designers, product managers, engineers, researchers, customers, and beyond. I take pride in basing my content design decisions on logic and data, not being told what to write in a vacuum.
Here are a few things I value in a work environment:
• Working in a low-ego design environment where team members actively value and give constructive feedback to each other
• Collaborating with teams who understand and consciously build psychological safety and trust with one another

• Strategic, visionary, stretch projects that challenge my content and design skills
• A place where I can bring my whole, weird, unapologetically authentic self at work with no judgment
• Working with people who don't take themselves too seriously and who prioritize fun
Stuff I get excited about
• Advocating for bringing content in early into the design process
Conducting research to understand how language influences customer experiences
Using plain language to make it easy for users to get things done quickly
• Learning about and writing for accessibility
Designing and writing for complex feature sets or products
Mentoring BIPOC UX writers and content strategists new to the field
Music and collecting vinyl records, namely soul, funk, and disco
• Teaching others about diversity in craft beer
UX Mentorship
I'm a big fan of giving back. We were all entry-level at some point in our career and I'm so thankful for the mentors who have helped me along the way. I pay it forward through regular mentoring and coaching outside of work.
Board member and mentor, UX Content Collective
Design mentor, ADPList
